ARTIST STATEMENT

Amy Raymond is a Sydney based professional artist creating unique seascapes that focus on the ever changing colours and textures of the ocean, beaches and surrounding rock pools. With a strong emphasis on the coastal lifestyle of Sydneysiders, Amy seeks to capture the movement and energy often not only of the ocean landscape but of those inhabiting it. Her art practice blurs the lines between realism and abstraction, with elements such as her unique figures representing life within the landscape rather than concentration on the individual. Colour and vibrancy are a recurring aesthetic intended to spark a joyous and nostalgic response by the viewer.
